Kathryn Wilson: Sculptor/Painter

All of Kathryn’s sculptures begin with an idea and a lump of porcelain clay.  She kneads and pushes the mound of soft clay into roughly the shape she has in mind—then carves in the details.  She hollows just enough for the piece to dry properly before adding the finishing touches.  Kathryn started as a stone carver, so she leaves the walls thick, enabling the sculpture to be solid and heavy.
