Daphne’s use of polymer clay in her art is the most recent means of expression in her life that began with ceramics and fiber arts. She is passionate about “junk,” scraps, and found objects, and loves to recycle these into her art. The range of color possibilities in polymer clay and the intricate patterns millefiori techniques constantly amaze and excite her. Polymer clay gives her a voice to a playfulness in her spirit and captures her delight in life, in color, in texture and in form.

David Moore, local potter and painter, has always been drawn to earthy subjects, materials and colors. His finely crafted functional pottery, whether mugs, bowls, or casserole dishes, often display a tiny tree and moon on their surface beneath a subdued glaze.

Oil paintings of Kentucky landscapes, abandoned buildings and farm equipment are meticulously rendered in ochres, umbers, grays and greens. They are characterized by generous textural detail...and often a tiny hidden animal. His work speaks about the heart of rural Kentucky.

Beading is the most diverse of any creative medium Evy has attempted in sixty years. She continues to take classes and has mastered peyote, herringbone, right-angle weave, albion, netting, African helix, brick, square, ladder, cellini spiral, dutch spiral and bead embroidery, which involves another slew of stitches. She uses Swarovski crystals, either Toho or Miyuki seed beads, assorted gemstones and quality glass beads.

Indigo's work is inspired by the woods surrounding her home near Bloomfield KY. She uses various hand building techniques including Kohiki and pit firing to create one of a kind organic forms. All of Kathryn’s sculptures begin with an idea and a lump of porcelain clay.  She kneads and pushes the mound of soft clay into roughly the shape she has in mind—then carves in the details.  She hollows just enough for the piece to dry properly before adding the finishing touches.  Kathryn started as a stone carver, so she leaves the walls thick, enabling the sculpture to be solid and heavy.

Mary’s love of fiber arts began when her Kindergarten teacher showed her  how to knit.  As a teen, she learned to spin wool.  She’s never without a knitting project, it seems.  

Ten years ago, she learned to weave, and became enamored with working with selvedge to make rugs.  She loves to play with different textures and colors and make something that others can enjoy.

Susan is a Kentucky artist working in a variety of media.  Her Kentucky Christmas ornaments feature shapes that reflect the Kentucky experience.  Ornaments are made by hand using stoneware clay, fired in a kiln, and completed with a beautifully glazed finish.  One of her ornaments was chosen for display on the White House Christmas tree in 1993.

Bright, bold colors make up her palette. She loves to see a blank canvas gradually take on the evolving details of a completed work, to hopefully please and inspire others. She paints in oils, acrylics and watercolor and ink.
